The embrace of Holly and Ivy was originally a requested item and is now available as a regular Starry Pillar that celebrates the coming together of the energies of Holly and Ivy at the Winter Solstice, popularly known as Yule.
The connection of Holly and Ivy to Yuletime is popularised in the Carol "The Holly and the Ivy" and in Pagan tradition the Holly King begins his reign at Yule when he overthrows the Oak King for dominance and rules over the Darker half of the year.
The combination of Holly and Ivy here however represents the coming together of Masculine and Feminine energies, and celebrates these two trees in their Ogham form, creating an energy matrix which reflects a dance of trees at the Winter Solstice.
The "Embrace" of Holly and Ivy is akin to lovers dancing in the forest, celebrating this time of year. Holly energy is typically masculine, honouring the male Warrior, Protector, and King, and the magick of this tree is used to conquer, protect and overcome. At the Winter Solstice, burning Holly is thought to clear away negativity from the previous year and ecourage good luck in the new.
Ivy energy by contrast is typically considered feminine, honouring the female Warrior, Teacher, and Queen, and the magick of this tree is typical used to overcome difficulty, attain spiritual insight into the spiral of ones true path and for healing.
Dance with the wild energies of Holly and Ivy as they embrace one another at the Winter Solstice.
Burn with caution
Please note: The Cauldron's outer container is metal and it will get very hot when you burn them. Please take care to place the cauldron on a suitable surface before burning.
